PALS stands for Parents of Ascension Lutheran Students
PALS is the parent-coordinated organization that helps raise money for underfunded school needs and extracurricular programs, connects teachers with parents for classroom needs, and bolsters goodwill and fellowship among students and their families.

Auction – Oversees total production of Ascension Annual Auction. Recruits, organizes, manages all departments including solicitation of goods, decorations, and venue. Coordinates and guides both live and silent auction. Effort – Heavy from December – April
Musical Reception Coordinator – Responsible for decorating Founders Hall for receptions that take place after the Christmas Musical, Talent Show, and Spring Musical. Decorations may be pulled from PALS closet or brought from home. Organize Food and Drink for the reception, set up and clean up, mobilize volunteers and service students. Effort – 3 nighttime events. All necessary food and drink shop lists and volunteer need breakdowns are available for your guidance.
Fellowship Event Coordinator – Responsible for decorating venue for Muffins with Moms, Donuts with Dads, and Grandparents’ Day. Decorations may be pulled from PALS Closet or brought from home. Organize Food and Drink for each event, set up and clean up, mobilize volunteers and service students. Effort – 3 morning time events. All necessary food and drink shop lists and volunteer need breakdowns are available for your guidance.
Used Uniforms – Coordinate and organize two used uniform sales per year. Advertise, set up, collect monies, and clean up after the event. Organize and sort used uniform closet. Effort – Usually once in August and once in Spring.
Boosters – Boosters play a role in providing student-athletes with a positive experience through their enthusiastic efforts. Coordinates snack bar volunteers, stocks snack bar supplies, assists in the planning of athletic banquets, promotes team spirit by recognizing and encouraging athletes throughout the year. Effort – year round, ongoing per sports season.
Movie Night Coordinator – Coordinates and organizes movie set up, concession stand, volunteers, and service students. Advertises promotes and sells tickets. Be present night of. Effort – 1 event; All necessary lists for help and guidance are available.
PALS/Student Council Liaison – Coordinates requests for service students (Students seeking to fulfill service hour requirements) with student council teacher. Also recruits student council help in promoting upcoming events.
Flyers – Makes flyers for upcoming events to email, post, and distribute to school.
Fun Run – This is a jog-a-thon type fundraising event that usually takes place in November (11/17). Organize, coordinate, and generate volunteers for the event. Organize classes into color teams, distribute and collect pledge envelopes, be present on the day of the event to coordinate vendors, volunteers, teachers, and staff. Obtain prizes and host awards ceremony (12/16). Effort – one-time event. All past paperwork is available to help guide and assist.

Escript – Research a passive style ongoing fundraiser and put into motion.
Coordinator for Trunk or Treat Festival – (10/31) – TBD
Fundraising and Fellowship Events – Be creative! Do you have an idea that you’ve done before or seen somewhere else? Last year we did a Father/Daughter Square Dance and a Mother/Son Date Night Dinner and a Movie. If you have an idea for a fundraising event you’d like to host on campus, please email PALS or come to a meeting to present it. Effort – coordinate, organize, and manage volunteers to decorate, obtain, and run all things necessary for your event.
Lunch Program Coordinator – Recruits and organizes volunteers to distribute ordered lunches to students for our new 5 day a week purchased lunch program.
Room Parents (Infant – 8th Grade) – Representative from each class level from Infant to 8th Grade. Attends monthly PALS meetings as a liaison between PALS and the parents and students of their class by communicating upcoming events and happenings. Coordinates and recruits parent volunteers for events.
Auction Project Head – Researches, coordinates, receives approval for and executes their class Auction Project.
Auction Basket Head – Researches, coordinates, receives approval for and executes their class Auction Basket. Collects all necessary Donations.

Library Duty – grades 2 – 4; Coordinates library needs with Librarian. Duties include helping students find books, checking in and out books. Effort – one hour a week
