Anna Berg is the Spanish teacher at Ascension teaching students Kindergarten - 8th grade. As an alum of Ascension Lutheran School and a lifelong member of the church, Señorita Berg feels blessed to be a part of this caring community, where students are challenged and supported to grow in their faith and love of learning. She received her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Bachelor’s degree from California Lutheran University in Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. During her student teaching at Flory Academy in Moorpark, she translated parts of the lessons in Spanish to strengthen understanding for Spanish speaking students. Señorita Berg has a passion for Spanish that has grown through her experiences in Spanish speaking countries. In 2008, she went on Ascension’s first trip to Peru, led by Pastor Steve. In 2014, she visited Costa Rica on a service trip with CLU. There, she was able to use her Spanish to build relationships with the children at the orphanage they visited. In 2015, she studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain where she had the opportunity to live with a host family and strengthen her Spanish even more. Rock climbing, camping, and crafting are some of Señorita Berg's favorite hobbies in her free time.
